One of the most popular fundraising and social events of the season will take place September 6, as St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital celebrates its annual Gala on the waterfront at Donahue Memorial Park in Cornwall-on-Hudson. The black-tie event, held under an exquisite, air conditioned tent along the edge of the Hudson River, will honor Sen. Bill Larkin for his many years of unwavering commitment to our hospital and community. “Bill is an amazing advocate,” said SLCH President and CEO in announcing the selection of Sen. Larkin as an honoree. “We are proud to recognize his many years of outstanding service.” |

Sen. Larkin has spent almost 30 years in the Legislature, representing Orange and Ulster counties. He has secured millions of dollars in state funding for vital SLCH initiatives such as, Emergency Department renovations, construction of a helipad to expedite patient transport, renovations of the Pediatric Unit and most recently, monies for the construction of a comprehensive Cancer Treatment Center at the Cornwall campus. It will be the first facility in the region to offer TomoTherapy, an advanced technology that combats cancer cells while preserving healthy tissue. This year’s Gala, An Evening in Monte Carlo, is a gaming-themed event that will support the hospital’s ongoing initiatives to enhance facilities, programs and services in order to continue to bring quality health care to the region.
