SLCH nurses conducted the blood pressure screenings and offered advice on heart
health. Over 100 travelers stopped by to get their pressure checked, talk to the nursing
staff, or take health-related materials.
“St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital was eager to partner with the American Heart Association
and the Port Authority on this important initiative,” said Margaret Deyo Allers, R.N., N.P.,
director of Cardiac Services at SLCH. “As a regional leader in cardiac and stroke services,
the hospital is always interested in opportunities to educate the public and provide
potentially life-saving information."
