Newburgh, NY – St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital announces that Steve Lieberstein of
Newburgh has been named Development Officer. With over eight years fund-raising
experience, Lieberstein brings to his position specific expertise in donor research,
major gift solicitation and nonprofit management. Most recently, Lieberstein served
as the Director of Resource Development and Community Outreach for the Sullivan
County Community College Foundation.
In welcoming Lieberstein to SLCH, Vice President of Government Affairs and
Foundation Sue Sullivan said, “Steve’s extensive experience and involvement in
civic organizations create a win/win situation for the community and the hospital.”

important,” said Sullivan. “Steve’s fund-raising efforts for our
hospital will improve our facility, which each of us in the community will, at some
point, need.”
Lieberstein’ s experience includes development positions for the Eleanor Roosevelt
Center at Val-Kill and at the New York Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York
City as well as at several Jewish nonprofits in the city.
The hospital’s $100 million Master Facilities Plan has recently resulted in the
opening of the Center for Joint Replacement and new Pediatric Unit and the
introduction of the da Vinci® robotic surgery. Groundbreaking for a cancer treatment
center is planned for spring 2008 at the Cornwall campus.
Lieberstein holds a B.A. in criminal justice from John Jay College of CUNY and an
M.P.A. from Baruch College. He is a member of the Association of Fundraising
Professionals and is a lecturer for the Institute for Nonprofit Management at SUNY
Orange. |
